Graco Classic Wood Highchair- Pros and Cons

One excellent stuff for babies are chairs. Parents believe that quality high chairs should be made available to children.

One example of this chair is the Graco Classic Wood Highchair which has a warm wood and unique design. You can use this baby item for years. There are various reasons why a Graco Classic Wood Highchair is a good buy.

The top features of this product include wood styling, removable plastic tray cover and quality construction. One thing that I like in this product is that it provides me with modern conveniences like a cushioned, wipe clean seat pad, 3-point harness and a clear dishwasher-safe, pull-out tray insert that shows off and protects the wood finish. Then, as the child grows, you can take off the seat pad and switch to the smaller snack tray and voila! I now have a toddler chair. Older kids can also use it comfortably to reach the dinner table or do homework on the kitchen counter.

To stress, one thing that I really like in the Graco Classic Wood Highchair is its subtle design and high-quality construction. I also enjoy the chair’s removable clear plastic tray cover that protects the wood without hiding it.

These are the benefits of owning a Graco Classic Wood Highchair:

*    It is a well-built wooden high chair, easy to assemble and eye-catching. The back is also curved.

*    In actual, the seat cushion is prettier to look at compared to the picture. The cushion looks like they are tied because the ties snap on. Until now, I haven’t washed it yet because the small spills wipe off easily. Further, the harness is also washable.

*    The plastic tray cover is also removable and nice-looking. Though it is safe for dishwasher, you can also hand wash it. If you want to use the tray without the plastic cover, you may also add a layer of clear coat.

However, I also noticed some disadvantages to the Graco Classic Wood Highchair. Here are some of them:

*    The Graco Classic Wood Highchair doesn’t recline and the crotch post can’t be adjusted to fit different-sized babies.

*    It is also more expensive that highly rated plastic models like the Fisher-Price Rainforest Highchair.

*    Another setback that I noticed was the bar in the center between the child’s legs. I think that the design is all wrong and it is not adjustable. It goes too far back in the seat. I had to drill out the screw covers and remove it but when I tried to pried it off, I did not realize that it was also glued. It ended up peeling off a thin layer of wood and finish. I had to use wood filler.

*    The manufacturer’s description is also misleading at one point. It described the chair as usable for a toddler at a regular table when the snack tray is removed. However, the chair’s height is not adjustable. It cannot be used as a regular table since the toddler would have to do a lot of leaning. It could be used at a counter or breakfast bar, but not a regular table.
