Lots of new mothers like to make jogging a part of their daily exercise routine as it is an important part of any exercise regime.  Unfortunately, regular baby strollers are difficult to maneuver, and they usually slow you down.  The point of your jogging is not to get your exercise from fighting with your baby stroller it is to get it from the actual jogging.  Manufactures have taken care of this problem by designing baby jogging strollers just for the purpose of making jogging easy while keeping your child comfortable.  There’s a whole lot of different types of baby jogging strollers on the market, and you are going to come across lots of different ones, which can end up causing some confusion when it comes to picking the right one.  The easy answer is that there is no wrong choice, but there are a few things that you should know about baby jogging strollers before you get in over your head.

Wheels

Baby jogging strollers come in three basic wheel sizes: twelve inch, sixteen inch, and twenty “.  The 12 inch wheels are the best choice for walking on smooth terrain, like tracks and sidewalks. While the strollers with 16 inch wheels are well suited to the same purpose as the 12 inch wheels, they also can be used on more bumpy services such as grass and pathways.  The 20 inch wheels allow you to walk or jog on rough terrain, and are typically used in longer distances.

Materials

Make sure that the hubs on your wheels are made out of an alloy material rather than that of steel.  With the steel, there is an issue of weight and rusting.  The alloy is much lighter and easier to take care of.

What the frame is made out of is also really important.  Some baby jogging strollers are built with metal tubing that are connected at the joints with pieces of plastic, while other ones are constructed from an entirely welded aluminum frames.  Obviously the welded aluminum frames are best so this is what you are going to want in your baby jogging stroller.  The aluminum material allows the stroller to be much more lightweight anyway.

Swiveling wheels

There are some baby jogging strollers that will have swiveling wheels.  This is a perfect choice if you plan on using your jogging stroller like a regular stroller.  The swiveling front wheels of the baby jogging stroller can also be locked so that you have the tracking and stability for jogging.

Safety harness

One of the most important things to look at when checking out baby jogging strollers is the safety harness system. The safety harness system is going to keep your child from harm when you’re jogging down the street. The safety harness should be no less than a 5 point system. If by chance something happened when you’re jogging and you lost your hold on the stroller, you want to make sure that the safety tether attached to your wrist isn’t going to make the baby fly out of the stroller headfirst.

In addition to all of the points above, you are likely going to consider the price of the baby jogging strollers as well.  Baby jogging strollers are going to have varying prices just like any other items.  Some things that influence the prices of baby jogging strollers are the brand names as well as the materials that they are made from.
