How you dress your child like other things in life changes from generation to generation. It used to be that, when apart from excursions outside the home, little ones lived in onsies or infant nightgowns. Parents in those days gone by, just felt that since their child mostly ate and slept for the first several months of life, what’s the point to dress them up in rockstar baby gifts when they had no where to go.

Back in the days of bebop, the 50’s, you saw more infants actually wearing outfits at home, though cute frilly skirts with ruffled plastic pants for little girls and navy style shirts for baby boys gave the impression to be the archetypal wear for babies in that by gone age. Then came the sixties and babies sported torn jeans and t-shirts with peace signs giving them an adorable quasi adult look. In our day anything goes in infant clothing. You can dress your baby up like a small Paul Bunyan in flannel shirts and blue jeans complete with little tie work boots. Or you may dress him or her like an avid fisherman complete with fishing vest and little hats. Then of course you have the biker look, complete with leather vest and slick back hair and headband. You can even get little suits that can make your youngster appear like one of the “good fellows”. There is even a goth look for your baby. There is simply no end to how you can dress your infant these days. One of the cutest looks in today’s infant clothing is the punk rock look. Your infant when dressed in these clothes can look like a combination of “Punky Brewster” and a guitar player of a hard rock band complete with cute little skulls and spiked hair that is definitely if your baby has enough hair to spike. However there are nonetheless the sailor suits and frilly dresses and let’s not forget the camo baby clothes, the sunglasses and all the other infant accessories that is made to compliment whatever look you are after for your baby for that day.

infant clothing is big business today and for many reasons. Parents get pleasure from showing off their kids and there is no better way to extract attention to your baby than to dress her in a style meant to impress those around him. What’s more as a parent you understand that you will be able to dress your newborn the way you like for only a short period of time, as all too soon he will have developed his own sense of fashion and want to pick out his own clothes. Go ahead have fun. Enjoy this moment while you can. There’s an entire array of cool baby clothing and baby gear to choose from, from hats to shoes and everything in between. Whether you want him to dress like a geek or a freak, Mr. conservative or Joe Cool there are styles of baby outfits to fit your children’s individual and unique personality. Take a look at all the baby attire out there available for your child, the days of all in one night clothes are no more, now you can dress your youngster in the most modern styles and looks and have a great time doing just that.

Playing With Danger – Kids Toys Examined

It is a concern of many parents, unsafe toys. Their fears are not completely irrational either, as many children have been harmed by dangerous toys before, although accident numbers are falling after more stringent toy regulations have come into force. However, parents still need to be careful and below we highlight some of the important things to look out for to ensure toys are safe.

Sharp edges. It is imperative that toys do not have sharp edges, even if they are made from seemingly soft materials. Children can often be rough with toys and run around with them, and all it takes is a fall or a snatching motion to cause a cut or skin-pierce.

Small parts. It is generally common knowledge that children and small parts do not mix well. Because of their inquisitive nature, children often put small things in their mouth and can sometimes swallow or even choke on them. Some toys might appear to have no small parts but because they are made from poor quality materials, parts easily break off and pose an equal risk.

Chemicals. Whether it is dangerous chemicals in plastics, harmful fluids in toys, or simply toxins in the paint that they are decorated with, kids can be seriously harmed by inconsiderate materials. All toys should be tested for such things, but unfortunately some dangerous toys slip through the net.

Mechanical Hazards. Some toys might not seem dangerous at first glance but their pure functioning poses a risk to children. Toys that work using elastic or springs can sometimes harm kids eyes if they are poor quality and break for example. Additionally, toys sometimes have dangerous hinges or gates that children can trap finger in.

All toys and Christmas gifts should comply with the health and safety regulations of their respective countries, so next time you’re buying gifts for her or him look out for the endorsement logos on the toy’s label first.

Picking the Perfect Pregnancy Gift

Pregnant women are always in need of a little pampering and thoughtful maternity gifts are the perfect way of showing you care. Receiving pregnancy gifts can make a pregnant woman feel special and appreciated, at a time when she may not be feeling her best. There is a whole range of maternity gifts for sale nowadays, particularly via the internet.

Here are my favourite suggestions for maternity and new mum gifts.

Comfortable clothing:
Maternity clothing and nursing clothing are also thoughtful and much appreciated gifts. Breastfeeding tops, loungewear; perhaps even a maternity evening dress can be given as presents. Or perhaps some maternity accessories for comfort, such as a pair of luxury slippers, or style like a bright scarf.

Jewellery
A beautiful present would be a long necklace with a chunky pendant. The long shape lengthens the woman’s look, and a chunky pendant balances their bump. Check that the necklace adjusts so the pendant can fall just above the bump.
Popular new mum gifts include reminder bracelets. For breast feeding Moms this bracelet is a beautiful way to remember which side they need to start the next feed on.

Skincare and toiletries products
Maternity presents such as moisturising body creams, scented oils, candles, and bath oils also make much appreciated luxury presents. Watch out for luxury gift packs of creams and massage oils that stop prevent and remove stretch marks that are inevitable after child birth. Pregnant women love to feel relaxed.

Still undecided?
If you are still unsure about the kind of maternity gift that will be appreciated, you can always give a gift certificate that can be redeemed for something useful and essential. This is an alternative way to make sure that a gift is not doubled-up and the recipient can pick a gift that goes with her tastes exactly.

Maternity gifts are a great way to show that you are thinking of someone during their pregnancy. They are also a lovely way to mark the new baby’s arrival with a gift for the new mum rather than the new baby!
