Adult exposure to seats is generally very boring – you take a seat, you get up: the chair keeps right there. The majority of chairs are sturdy furniture pieces without any electrical connections or moving components: we don’t visualize them as harmful. But a high chair is usually a particular type of chair for which there are several crucial safety considerations. High chair safety needs to be the most important consideration when buying one.

The high chair should have a broad, steady foundation. This is an important factor of toddler chair safety, and often will make the tray more unlikely to topple. It’s also wise to make sure you place it where the child can’t reach any surface (like a wall, counter, or table) to push off against, probably slamming the high chair over. If you purchase a multisystem toddler chair that changes into other baby furniture, test it after each conversion to be sure that all the parts are solidly linked as they ought to be, and that the seat portion can’t be dislodged.

Falls leading to head injuries are common high chair-related accidents. In addition, a small baby who isn’t well-restrained and kept unattended can fall underneath the tray, with his or her head getting trapped.

There happen to be deaths documented with related injuries. Wooden high chair safety is dependent upon a quality restraint system, that could have a crotch post, in addition to safety belts which fasten firmly. A five-point harness, which fuses a lap belt along with a crotch T-strap and also shoulder straps, is recommended as the safest. This can both prevent the child from standing up in the toddler chair plus from slipping underneath the tray.

Highchair safety begins with good watch, since regardless how safe the restraint system and just how durable the structure, by no means leave a child in the chair, nor allow the child climb up to go into it-children should always be lifted in.

Various High Chair Purchasing Suggestions For Mothers And Fathers

Toddlers along with babies spend a large amount of period in the high chair for around the first couple of years of their lives. It’s important that the toddler chair is dependable, sturdy and also packed with the features to make mealtime a pleasant experience for both you and the baby. With a bit of forethought not to mention planning, you can buy a high chair that suits the demands of your family perfectly.

Research the security features of the high chair that you are considering to buy. Make sure that it’s got both shoulder straps to use when your baby is not able to sit up without support as well as waist and crotch straps to secure your baby’s lower body. When the high chair includes a fold up feature, make certain that it properly fastens into position when it’s open and make certain the chair has a wide base for stability. I prefer a wooden high chair that has high chair pads to be able to provide superior neck and also buttocks support for my baby as he will definitely spend a long time sitting on it.

Figure out where the toddler chair will reside in your home. If the kitchen or dining area is small, you might want to purchase a small high chair which folds very easily for safe-keeping. If space isn’t a problem, therefore you want to use the chair for many years, consider purchasing a more costly product having features to hold a growing child.

Look for a high chair which has a solid post in the center of the seat. This post, that is situated between a baby’s thighs while she’s seated, will stop your baby from slipping out of the chair and then harming herself.

Get hold of a high chair that you could control easily. Slide the tray on and off to make certain you are able to accomplish this task without a struggle, and be sure you can fasten and unfasten the safety band without needing to tug at them.

Graco Classic Wood Highchair- Pros and Cons

One excellent stuff for babies are chairs. Parents believe that quality high chairs should be made available to children.

One example of this chair is the Graco Classic Wood Highchair which has a warm wood and unique design. You can use this baby item for years. There are various reasons why a Graco Classic Wood Highchair is a good buy.

The top features of this product include wood styling, removable plastic tray cover and quality construction. One thing that I like in this product is that it provides me with modern conveniences like a cushioned, wipe clean seat pad, 3-point harness and a clear dishwasher-safe, pull-out tray insert that shows off and protects the wood finish. Then, as the child grows, you can take off the seat pad and switch to the smaller snack tray and voila! I now have a toddler chair. Older kids can also use it comfortably to reach the dinner table or do homework on the kitchen counter.

To stress, one thing that I really like in the Graco Classic Wood Highchair is its subtle design and high-quality construction. I also enjoy the chair’s removable clear plastic tray cover that protects the wood without hiding it.

These are the benefits of owning a Graco Classic Wood Highchair:

*    It is a well-built wooden high chair, easy to assemble and eye-catching. The back is also curved.

*    In actual, the seat cushion is prettier to look at compared to the picture. The cushion looks like they are tied because the ties snap on. Until now, I haven’t washed it yet because the small spills wipe off easily. Further, the harness is also washable.

*    The plastic tray cover is also removable and nice-looking. Though it is safe for dishwasher, you can also hand wash it. If you want to use the tray without the plastic cover, you may also add a layer of clear coat.

However, I also noticed some disadvantages to the Graco Classic Wood Highchair. Here are some of them:

*    The Graco Classic Wood Highchair doesn’t recline and the crotch post can’t be adjusted to fit different-sized babies.

*    It is also more expensive that highly rated plastic models like the Fisher-Price Rainforest Highchair.

*    Another setback that I noticed was the bar in the center between the child’s legs. I think that the design is all wrong and it is not adjustable. It goes too far back in the seat. I had to drill out the screw covers and remove it but when I tried to pried it off, I did not realize that it was also glued. It ended up peeling off a thin layer of wood and finish. I had to use wood filler.

*    The manufacturer’s description is also misleading at one point. It described the chair as usable for a toddler at a regular table when the snack tray is removed. However, the chair’s height is not adjustable. It cannot be used as a regular table since the toddler would have to do a lot of leaning. It could be used at a counter or breakfast bar, but not a regular table.
